Dear Leigh Stationers’ Academy Community,
This week at Leigh Stationers’ Academy, we’ve seen our values of leadership, scholarship, and achievement reflected across a variety of activities. Our Mock Examination Results Evening was a great opportunity for parents, carers, and pupils to come together and focus on what’s needed for success in the summer. It was wonderful to see the dedication and determination in the room, with everyone working towards the same goal—ensuring every pupil achieves their very best.
A special mention must go to our Year 7 and 8 girls’ football team, who delivered an outstanding performance to win the LAT 5-A-Side Football Tournament with 27 goals scored overall. The boys’ team also impressed, finishing 4th with brilliant displays of skill and effort.
Looking ahead, we have some important events on the horizon, including the Year 13 and Year 11 Parents’ Evenings and the Work Experience Information Evening for Years 10 and 12. These opportunities are vital in ensuring students, parents, and staff continue to work together to support academic and personal success. Thank you for your ongoing support, and I look forward to seeing many of you at these upcoming events.
Best wishes,
Mr Joseph Sparks | Principal, Leigh Stationers’ Academy
Mock Examination Results Evening Success
On Thursday, 16 January 2025, Leigh Stationers’ Academy hosted its Mock Examination Results Evening for Year 11 and Year 13 students, welcoming over 220 Year 11 parents and carers and more than 80 Year 13 parents and carers.
The evening began with a presentation from Mr Sparks, Principal, who outlined the timeline for the summer examinations, the extensive support available to students, and practical ways parents/carers can contribute to their children’s success. “With just 65 school days until the first public examination, tonight is about ensuring that the academy, pupils, and parents/carers work collaboratively to ensure that every pupil achieves exceptional outcomes,” said Mr Sparks.
Parents and carers then proceeded to the school restaurant to collect their children’s mock examination results. “This event is about so much more than just collecting results,” said Mr Flower, Vice Principal. “It’s about helping our pupils reflect on their progress and understand what they need to do to achieve their very best in the summer. While many pupils were thrilled with their results, I know some felt disappointed—but that’s okay. This is an opportunity to reset, focus, and work together to ensure every pupil reaches their full potential.”
During the evening, parents and carers were also provided with key dates to help them plan for the months ahead, including:
- Wednesday, 22 January 2025: Year 13 Parents’ Evening
- Wednesday, 29 January 2025: Year 11 Parents’ Evening
- Monday, 3 March 2025: Mock Examinations (Round 2) Begin
- Monday, 12 May 2025: GCSE Examinations Begin
- Friday, 20 June 2025: GCSE Examinations End
