Dear Leigh Stationers’ Academy Community,
There’s certainly no winding down at the end of a module at Leigh Stationers’ Academy – and this week has proved just that. As we reached the close of Module 4, our students and staff have once again demonstrated what leadership, scholarship, and achievement look like in action. From our end-of-module college assemblies celebrating pupil success, to Woolf College’s vibrant and inclusive Culture Day, it’s been a week full of energy and purpose. We’ve recognised the creative talent of Aubrey, Year 8 Hansard College, who was runner-up in the LAT Art Competition, and applauded the engagement of our Year 13 students in both the Business Museum visit and the Law Grade Booster Workshop. I’m also delighted to confirm three internal appointments to our SEND team—Ms Bartlett, Ms Gould and Ms Draper—who will play a key role in strengthening our inclusive provision.
As we look ahead, there’s still much to look forward to. Our Year 9 students have now completed their options programme, and the submission form has been sent home today. We’re also inviting families of students in Years 7 to 9 to join us for our MYP Parent Voice Forums later this month, ensuring we continue to grow as a community driven by reflection and feedback. With Easter around the corner, Year 11 and 13 pupils are preparing for a focused schedule of intervention sessions to support their revision.
I want to thank all staff, students and families for their continued support this module and wish everyone a restful and productive Easter break.
Best wishes,
Mr Joseph Sparks | Principal, Leigh Stationers’ Academy

IB MYP Parent Voice Forums
Leigh Stationers’ Academy will be hosting its next MYP Parent Voice Forum on Monday, 28 April 2025, inviting all parents and carers of students in Years 7, 8, and 9 to take part. To accommodate family schedules, and following parent and carer feedback, the forum will run at two separate times to give more families the opportunity to attend. Each session will last approximately 45 minutes:
- Morning session: 08:45 – Eventbrite Sign-Up
- Afternoon session: 16:15 – Eventbrite Sign-Up
The forum will offer parents and carers the chance to reflect on their child’s learning experience and provide feedback as part of the academy’s ongoing IB Self-Study process. This feedback is essential to strengthening the delivery of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) at Leigh Stationers’ Academy.
Ms Jess, Assistant Principal, said: “The IB MYP is more than just a curriculum – it’s a framework that helps our students grow into well-rounded, thoughtful, and globally minded individuals. It encourages them to think critically, make real-world connections, and develop a deep understanding of different perspectives. Hearing from parents and carers is a vital part of this journey. Your insights help us reflect, improve, and ensure we’re delivering the very best learning experience for every child.”
Families are encouraged to attend and share their views to help shape the future of the MYP and support the academy’s commitment to providing an inclusive, high-quality education for all.

This week, students received updated Question Level Analyses (QLAs), identifying their strengths and areas for improvement across all examination papers. These QLAs will serve as a guide for focused revision. Students are also reminded of the Academy’s dedicated revision websites (click here for Year 11, and here for Year 13), which provides resources to support independent study.
The Academy reiterates the importance of consistent attendance and punctuality, emphasising that maintaining at least 95% attendance in the lead-up to examinations is crucial for achieving optimal results.
