Caxton College Celebrates Success in End-of-Module Assembly 

Caxton College marked the end of another successful module with a celebratory assembly on Wednesday 12th February, recognising student achievements in attendance, reading, merits, and leadership.

Outstanding Attendance Achievements

Caxton pupils demonstrated a strong commitment to attendance, with 7CAX2, 8CAX1, 9CAX2 and 10CAX1 leading the way in their respective year groups. 

Top Readers Recognised

Students’ dedication to reading was highlighted through their Sparx reader points. 7CAX3, 8CAX1 and 9ACAX3 are the leading tutor groups in their respective year groups so far this academic year. Special recognition was given to the leading reader in each tutor group:

Celebrating Merit Achievements

Merit points have been awarded for exceptional effort and a positive attitude towards learning throughout the academic year so far. We are really proud of all pupils who have achieved such recognition. 7CAX3, 8CAX3, 9CAX2 and 10CAX1 are the leading tutor groups in their respective year groups so far this academic year. Caxton College Leadership Awards

The assembly also celebrated students who embodied key IB Learner Profile attributes. Teachers from Caxton College recognised students for characteristics such as being principled, reflective, and caring.

  • Sienna G (8CAX1) nominated by Mr Kalos: Sienna represents Caxton College and Leigh Stationers’ Academy in sports and excels as a Student Voice leader with great ideas. I applaud her commitment and dedication.
  • Mehmet Y (7CAX3) nominated by Ms Efford: Mehmet consistently demonstrates good behaviour and effort in learning. As a Library Ambassador, he goes above and beyond to contribute to the academy community. 
  • Amelie S (10CAX3) nominated by Ms Hamilton-Cox: Amelie has gained confidence in English, takes more risks, and her results reflect this. She is a reflective student with impeccable manners.
  • Olivia W (7CAX1) nominated by Ms Blayney: Olivia’s confidence has grown, allowing her to take more risks in learning. Her resilience is commendable. She excels in sports with dedication.
  • Rim C (11CAX2) nominated by Ms Hills: Rim shows independence, resilience, and determination. Her progress is evident in her written work, mock results, and confident class contributions.
  • Deni N (9CAX2) nominated by Mrs Ruck: Deni demonstrates increased independence, confidence, and a reflective approach to school life, becoming more open-minded to new ideas and perspectives.
  • Louis P (10CAX1) nominated by Ms Seamons: Louis has shown great independence and confidence, approaching challenges with a positive attitude and unwavering spirit.
  • Akram A (10CAX1) nominated by Ms Shead: Akram excels in Maths and English, demonstrating strong academic commitment. His determination to grow and overcome challenges is evident.
  • Riley W (10CAX1) nominated by Ms Westray: Riley has settled in well and is also helping other new students settle in.
  • Phoebe D (10CAX1) nominated by Ms Campbell: Phoebe is polite, kind and always friendly and approachable. The student has no negative points and also good attendance.

Head of College Award

The Head of College Award recognises a pupil who has demonstrated exceptional commitment, positive behaviour, and contribution to their college community. This term, the award goes to Riley for his resilience. Mr Smith, Head of Caxton College, praised Riley’s achievements, saying:

‘Riley has put in lots of hard work and effort into this module to improve attendance and engage well with classwork and homework. I’m really proud of his resilience.
