Angelou College Celebrates Success in End-of-Module Assembly 

Angelou College marked the end of another successful module with a celebratory assembly on Wednesday, recognising student achievements in attendance, reading, merits, and leadership.

Outstanding Attendance Achievements

Angelou pupils demonstrated a strong commitment to attendance, with 7ANG1, 8ANG2 and 9ANG2 leading the way in their respective year groups. Notably, 226 students maintained attendance of 96% or higher, with 104 pupils achieving an impressive 100% attendance this term.

Top Readers Recognised

Students’ dedication to reading was highlighted through their Sparx reader points. 7ANG3, 8ANG3 and 9ANG3 are the leading tutor groups in their respective year groups so far this academic year. Special recognition was given to the leading reader in each tutor group:

These students achieved the highest reader points in their respective year groups, showcasing their enthusiasm for literacy. A special shout out goes out to Tulisa J who is our leading reader in the college with 41,150 Sparx reader points so far this year!

Merit points have been awarded for exceptional effort and a positive attitude towards learning throughout the academic year so far. We are really proud of all pupils who have achieved such recognition. 7ANG1, 8ANG3 and 9ANG3 are the leading tutor groups in their respective year groups so far this academic year. Angelou College Leadership Awards

The assembly also celebrated students who embodied key IB Learner Profile attributes. Teachers from Angelou College recognised students for characteristics such as being principled, reflective, and caring.

Head of College Award

The Head of College Award recognises a pupil who has demonstrated exceptional commitment, positive behaviour, and contribution to their college community. This term, the award goes to Ryan for his outstanding dedication and achievements since joining Angelou College.

Mr Farr, Head of Angelou College, praised Ryan’s achievements, saying: “Ryan has been a fantastic addition to the Angelou community since joining us in September. With 100% attendance, no negative behaviour logs, and an open-minded attitude from day one, he has made a real impact. His dedication and hard work have already led to excellent progress in his knowledge assessments. Well done, Ryan—keep up the great work!”
