Leigh Stationers’ Academy is a large and inclusive 11–18 secondary school located in South East London, serving a diverse and vibrant community. With over 1,700 students on roll, we are one of the largest secondary schools in the region. We are part of the Leigh Academies Trust, a highly successful multi-academy trust comprising over 30 academies across Kent, Medway, and South East London.
We are also sponsored by The Stationers’ Company, one of the historic livery companies of the City of London. For more information about this important partnership, please visit the About Us section of our website.
Our Vision
At Leigh Stationers’ Academy, our vision is to create a community where no student is left behind. We achieve this by ensuring every student feels known, valued, and supported – through strong pastoral care, high-quality teaching, and a curriculum that is both broad and ambitious. Our distinctive college model creates a true sense of belonging, while our commitment to academic excellence and personal development empowers all students to thrive. By placing inclusion and aspiration at the heart of everything we do, we empower young people to succeed in school and beyond, making a positive impact on their communities and the wider world.
Our College Model
Leigh Stationers’ Academy is structured around a distinctive college model, which combines the advantages of a large school with the care, identity, and community of a smaller setting.
Our Published Admission Number (PAN) is 270 students per year. Pupils in Years 7–11 are allocated to one of three colleges:
- Angelou College
- Caxton College
- Hansard College
Each college admits 90 students per year and becomes the ‘home’ for up to 450 students across Key Stages 3 and 4. Every college has its own team of leaders, Student Services Managers, and a dedicated tutor team, ensuring that all students are known, valued and supported.
Leigh Stationers’ Academy is also home to Equiano College, our Designated Special Provision (DSP), which supports around 30 students with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) for moderate learning difficulties. Equiano College provides specialist teaching, tailored pastoral care, and inclusive enrichment opportunities, ensuring students access a personalised curriculum within a supportive and aspirational environment.
Our successful Post-16 provision, Woolf College, offers a wide range of qualifications, including A Levels, BTECs, vocational courses, and T Levels, supporting students to progress onto university, apprenticeships, or employment.
Our college model creates a strong sense of belonging while ensuring that every student receives high levels of academic challenge and pastoral support.
