Hansard College Celebrates Success in End-of-Module Assembly
Hansard College marked the end of another successful module with a celebratory assembly on Thursday, recognising student achievements in attendance, reading, merits, and leadership.
Outstanding Attendance Achievements
Hansard students demonstrated a strong commitment to attendance, achieving an overall rate of 95.4%—just shy of the academy’s target of 96%. Notably, 321 students maintained attendance of 96% or higher, with 135 achieving an impressive 100% attendance this term.
Top Readers Recognised
Students’ dedication to reading was highlighted through their Sparx reader points. Special recognition was given to:
- Year 7: Remi A (7Han2)
- Year 8: Maggie G (8Han3)
- Year 9: Malakai B (9Han1)
These students achieved the highest reader points in their respective year groups, showcasing their enthusiasm for literacy.
Celebrating Merit Achievements
Merit points were awarded for exceptional effort and a positive attitude towards learning. The top merit earners were:
- Year 7: Elsa R (7Han2)
- Year 8: Livia O’B (8Han3)
- Year 9: Stefania G (9Han2)
- Year 10: Samir A (10Han1)
These students exemplified the academy’s values of scholarship and achievement through their dedication and hard work.
IB Learner Profile Awards
The assembly also celebrated students who embodied key IB Learner Profile attributes. Teachers from Hansard College recognised students for characteristics such as being principled, reflective, and caring.
Head of College Award
The prestigious Head of College Award was presented to Samir A (10Han1) by Mr Flower. Praising Samir’s efforts, Mr Flower said: “Samir is a student who is principled and strives to do his best in lessons. He balances the new expectations of GCSE courses with increased homework demands, making great progress in his subjects. This dedication has resulted in teachers recognising him regularly, earning him the highest positive points in Hansard.”
