Angelou College Celebrates Success in End-of-Module Assembly
Angelou College marked the end of another successful module with a celebratory assembly on Tuesday 20th May, recognising student achievements in attendance, reading, merits, and leadership.
Outstanding Attendance Achievements
Angelou students demonstrated a strong commitment to attendance, with 7ANG1, 8ANG2, 9ANG2 and 10ANG3 leading the way in their respective year groups.
Top Readers Recognised
Students’ dedication to reading was highlighted through their Sparx Reader points. 7ANG3, 8ANG3 and 9ANG3 are the leading tutor groups in their respective year groups so far this academic year. Special recognition was given to the leading reader in each tutor group:

Celebrating Merit Achievements
Merit points have been awarded for exceptional effort and a positive attitude towards learning throughout the academic year so far. Angelou College Leadership Awards
The assembly also celebrated students who embodied key IB Learner Profile attributes. Teachers from Angelou College recognised students for characteristics such as being principled, reflective, and caring.
- Fin R (7ANG2) nominated by Ms Barnes: Fin works hard, shares ideas confidently, and collaborates well with peers. He applies learning through discussion and always contributes thoughtfully in class.
- Amilia G (7ANG3) nominated by Mr Kalos: Amilia is hardworking and considerate, always ready to support her peers. Her many merits reflect her dedication and positive attitude. Bine făcut!
- Harry M (8ANG2) nominated by Mr Hill: Harry always completes homework to a high standard and consistently puts in his best effort. His commitment to excellence is impressive.
- Farrah F (7ANG1) nominated by Ms Nidai: Farrah is a mature, hardworking student with no negatives and a consistently positive attitude. She is a role model to others—well done!
- Sophie H (10ANG3) nominated by Mr Murphy: Sophie is a hardworking, dedicated student with an excellent attitude. She consistently sets a positive example for others.
- Henry T (7ANG1) nominated by Ms Devereux: Henry is a kind, courteous, and hardworking student who gives 100% daily. He is a role model and demonstrates the Principle of Enquiry
- Lenny B (8ANG3) nominated by Ms Ashley: Lenny is a shining example at Leigh Stationers Academy. Always polite and smiling, he’s a role model and a valued member of Angelou.
- Anna E (10ANG1) nominated by Ms Hoff: Anna leads by example with excellent attendance and behaviour. She is consistently kind, helpful, and a valued member of Angelou.
- Poppy B (8ANG3) nominated by Ms Coppola: Poppy shows excellent perseverance and consistently applies herself. Her positive attitude and conscientiousness are a real asset.
- Zara B (8ANG3) nominated by Ms Pear: Zara has 100% attendance and a perfect behavioural record—an excellent example of commitment and responsibility.
Head of College Award
The Head of College Award recognises a pupil who has demonstrated exceptional commitment, positive behaviour, and contribution to their college community. This term, the award goes to Anu Dawodu in 10ANG`.
Mr Farr, Head of Angelou College, praised Anu’s achievements, saying:
‘Anu has consistently demonstrated resilience, consideration for others and determination to succeed. She has recently support with being a mentor/buddy for our new students and is a great asset to Angelou and LSA’
